Mar De Cristal is located on the Mar Menor, which is an inland sea which means there are no tides. This makes the sea ideal for children. The area enjoys an average 320 days of sunshine each year with the average temp being 30c in the summer months. It is also one of the driest regions in Spain, making it ideal in both summer and winter, especially for golfers.
The beautiful sandy beach is a 5 min walk away and there are restaurants and bars on the promenade. There is a well stocked supermarket and shops and should you require more shops the village of Los Belones is just 5 min drive away. The famous La Manga club can be seen from the sun terrace and is just 5 min drive away also, there you will find lots to do, from enjoying the world famous golf course to seeing where the England Squad train.
The restaurants there are excellent. For a real taste of Spanish culture got to the Port of Cartagena where you will find lovely tapas. Ideal for families, friends and golfers.The nearby La Manga golf resort boasts 3 golf courses frequently used by the rich and famous,the Hyatt hotel ,spa and diving club.The resort is well worth a visit highly recommended.
Mar Menor
The Mar Menor (‘Little Sea’), found in the south-east of the region of Murcia on the Costa Calida, is Europe’s largest salt water pool - a shallow lagoon of some 170 square km. The area is a haven for all types of water sports, including sailing, windsurfing, jet skiing and diving.
The average annual daytime temperature here is 24 C and the winters are very mild with little rain. With over 3000 hours of sunshine a year and such a mild climate, the water temperature can reach 30 C in summer.
The area also boasts many excellent golf courses, including Campo de Golf Villamartin, Real Club de Golf Campoamor and the famous La Manga Club
